National Retail Security Survey from University of Florida
Retail loss prevention executives engage in a constant battle to detect and prevent inventory shrinkage. Shrinkage (or shortage) are the financial losses attributable to a combination of employee theft, shoplifting, administrative error, and vendor fraud. In order to overcome the problems associated with shrinkage information regarding the prevalence of the problem, sources of the loss, obstacles other firms encounter, as well as a way to identify and employ "best practice" strategies. The National Retail Security Survey (NRSS) is intended to provide loss prevention executives with the most current market-specific information to assist in their continuing efforts to limit inventory shrinkage and financial losses.

European Retail Theft Barometer
This unique Report covering shrinkage and crime in 24 European countries is now in its sixth year. Shoplifters and Dishonest Employees Continue to Steal Profits from United States Retailers
Fruitland Park, FL — Over 750,000 shoplifters and dishonest employees were apprehended in 2004 by just 27 U.S. retail companies, according to the 17th Annual Retail Theft Survey conducted by Jack L. Hayes International, the leading loss prevention and inventory shrinkage control consulting firm. This survey also reports these 27 retail companies lost over $4.7 billion to shoplifting and employee theft in 2004.

British Retail Consortium Survey
Published annually, this is a vital resource in the fight against retail crime. BRC's Crime Survey contains updated statistics, reports and trends on customer theft, staff theft, burglary, criminal damage (including arson), robbery and till snatches, violence against staff, and fraud losses.

Action Against Business Crime
The main focus of AABC is to support and develop Business Crime Partnerships in local areas and ensure there are firm links between business, crime and disorder reduction partnerships, police and other relevant local and regional agencies. AABC will provide networking opportunities through the website, conferences, seminars and publications.

AABC will encourage sharing of best practice in reducing crime, provide advice and information to ensure partnerships are sustainable and financially sound, develop services and products for partnerships and ensure that the problems of business are better understood through campaigning, publicity and education.
