TAG COMPANY INTERNATIONAL AND NEDAP TO PROVIDE WEB-BASED EAS ANTI-THEFT TECHNOLOGY FOR A.S. WATSON GROUP THROUGHOUT EUROPE

Fast Growing Provider of Advanced EAS Solutions Partners Nedap, with Europe’s Leading EAS Solutions Innovator, to Install Multi-purpose EAS to over 1,800 stores throughout Europe

November 2004 (London, United Kingdom) – TAG Company International announced a multi year agreement with A.S. Watson Group’s Health & Beauty European operation to install Nedap's smart multi-purpose RF Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems, web-based management software-services, and EAS tagging supplies and accessories. The order is a long-term contract for the supply and maintenance to more than 1,800 stores in six European countries. Included in the program are the retail brands Superdrug in the United Kingdom, and Kruidvat, Trekpleister, ICI PARIS XL in continental Europe. TAG is already providing EAS equipment, supplies, and services to 200 Superdrug stores in the UK .

A.S. Watson, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong-based conglomerate Hutchison Whampoa Limited, selected TAG Company (UK) Limited, a subsidiary of TCI Ltd. and Nedap, listed on the Dutch stock market, because of the unique multi-purpose system, which not only demonstrated a continuous high level of security during an extensive test over several months in more than 60 stores, but also provided important information of all connected stores on a daily basis. This information allows management to be continuously updated on the effectiveness of security measures in the individual stores. In addition, the system provided information to optimize customer service in the stores.

A.S. Watson will introduce the system in all of its outlets in the Netherlands , Belgium , Great Britain and other European countries before the end of 2006. Nedap’s multi-purpose web-based anti-theft system is the first security system to provide “24-hour multi-store management information” on a daily basis. This opens up new ways to combat shrinkage (losses) and optimizes staff planning. The system itself can report malfunctioning; and service and maintenance is carried out mainly “remote and on line” from a service center assuring enhanced operational reliability and reducing traditional on-site service substantially. System performance is automatically checked on a daily basis.

David Robinson , A.S. Watson’s Group Head of Security: “The Nedap multi-purpose system has been tested extensively in one of our retail chains and has yielded a constantly high level of security. Furthermore, the information we have collected through the security system enables us to monitor and improve the effectiveness of our tagging policy, improve staff planning and results in staff having more time for customers. And last but not least the information helped us reduce unwanted EAS alarms”.

Mark Krom, President and CEO of TAG Company, “A.S. Watsons decision to install connected EAS technology and TAG Company EAS supplies and services underlines the growing requirement for advanced EAS solutions that go beyond basic security tagging. More on more, retailers are looking for alternative providers of EAS to deliver greater performance, service, and support. TAG Company and our partner, Nedap, are able to provide increasing value and responsiveness. World Class retailers like A.S. Watsons are demanding improved solutions. We are thrilled to provide them!”
